This is the 2010 Annual Report of the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona), a dynamic research centre in the heart of Catalonia, launched in 2005. The aim of this document is to provide an overview of the activities and developments that have taken place within the IRB Barcelona research community over the past year.
Foreword
In October 2010, IRB Barcelona celebrated its fifth-year anniversary as an independent research institute. In these five short years, we have been able to make great strides forward in placing IRB Barcelona on the map in international biomedical research.
