La Vanguardia” has sought out the opinion of Jordi Duran, research associate of the Metabolic Engineering and Diabetes Therapy  group at IRB Barcelona, about a proof of concept of a new patch that monitors diabetes, published in Nature Nanotechnology.

Duran says that the most important thing is that this new gadget allows real-time monitoring of glucose levels, which is a big advantage when having to control blood sugar and avoid the complications associated with the disease.
