First degree in Chemistry and Biology, both from the University of Barcelona. Ph.D. (1983) from the University of London under the supervision of Prof. Dennis Chapman, FRS.

2000 Prize of the Spanish Biophysical Society for his contribution to Biomolecular NMR. Full professor of Organic Chemistry in the University of Barcelona. Chairman of GERMN (Grupo Especializado de RMN) of the Spanish Royal Chemical Society.

Chairman of the European Science Foundation Research Network “Multidisciplinary Frontiers of Magnetic Resonance” (2007-2012).
