Born in Pont de Suert (Lleida) in 1953.
Graduate in Physics (1975) and Biology (1978) from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Ph.D in Sciences from the same university (1981). Postdoctoral Researcher at PURDUE University, USA (1982-1986). He has directed twelve doctoral theses and co-authored one hundred forty-five publications.
