IRB Barcelona seeks an enthusiastic programmer to join our bioinformatics team in the Molecular Modeling and Bioinformatics group (Structural Bioinformatics Program), under the framework of the Spanish National Bioinformatics Institute (INB) and two H2020 funded European projects: BioExcel and Human Brain Project.

IRB Barcelona is seeking a PhD candidate to work in the Genome Data Science laboratory (https://agendas.irbbarcelona.org/ ), headed by Prof. Fran Supek. On the project entitled Hypermutated tumors: insight into genome maintenance and cancer vulnerabilities provided by an extreme burden of somatic mutations —HYPER-INSIGHT, funded from the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme (grant agreement No 757700).  We will investigate the quality control mechanisms of the human transcriptome under mutagenic conditions.  We will combine high-throughput experimental and computational methods to reveal new therapeutic targets for cancer and heritable diseases.

IRB Barcelona is seeking a PhD candidate to study the interplay between cellular plasticity and disease, in the laboratory of Dr. Manuel Serrano.  The chosen candidate will investigate the mechanisms by which cells can establish, or transform, their identity, such as during development, homeostasis, and regeneration. The aim is to understand and ultimately control these processes, so that their decline during aging, or disease states, might be reversed.
