IRB Barcelona is a self-standing, non-profit institution devoted to basic and applied biomedical research. It was set up in 2005 jointly by the Government of Catalonia and the University of Barcelona and is located at the Barcelona Science Park. The institute currently has more than 430 members (scientific, technical and administrative staff) from all over the world, who work across disciplines to advance research in the biomedical sciences.

IRB Barcelona is seeking a Postdoctoral scientist to joint our Gene Translation Laboratoy with experience in the analysis of datasets of tRNA sequences and the biochemical characterization of tRNA modified nucleosides.

 

To work on the project PID2019-108037RB-I00 AEI  y DOI 10.13039/501100011033, "Función, regulación, y aplicaciones biotecnológicas de la síntesis de proteïnes”.

Duties: 
  • Carry out the analysis of tissue-specific tRNA-seq datasets

 

  • Biochemically characterize the impact of specific nucleoside modifications
Profile: 

Must Have – Required

 

  • Experience: At least 4 years of previous postdoctoral experience.

 

  • Knowledge: An PhD. in molecular biology.

 

  • Skills: RNA biochemistry and computational analysis of RNA seq datasets.

 

Desirable

 

  • Experience: Experience in epigenetic modifications.

 

  • Knowledge: knowledge of modified nucleosides chemistry.

 

  • Skills: Biochemical detection of modified nucleosides.
