The structural and functional organization of cancer cell’s genome reveal the epigenetic reprogramming of biological processes underlying the acquisition of malignant phenotypes. Analysis of chromatin architecture and activity in the primary tumor should contribute to outline the specific mechanisms of transformation for each cancer, as well as to give access to a privileged information with potential applications in early diagnosis and management of the disease.
