IRB Barcelona organizes the Barcelona BioMed Conferences, an international forum in which to debate cutting-edge research in biomedical sciences
IRB Barcelona researcher Miquel Coll has published the study in Molecular Cell
The fair, organized by the PCB, presents the research projects currently performed by several R+D institutes in Barcelona
The principal investigators of this study, Eduardo Soriano, at the IRB Barcelona, and Javier Sáez-Valero, at the Instituto de Neurociencias de Alicante, publish their findings in the journal “Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences” (PNAS).
In the leading edge section of Cell, C. Gonzalez (IRB Barcelona) and A. Wodarz (CMPB, Germany) review the latest articles providing new insight into the mechanisms by which loss of polarity in stem cell may lead to tumourigenesis.
The study is presented on the cover of the leading chemistry journal Angewandte Chemie
The renowned scientist of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York has joined IRB Barcelona as Adjunct Director
The IRB Barcelona has now its own legal status through which to manage the future of the centre. The first meeting of the board of trustees appointed Joan J. Guinovart, researcher and senior professor with the Dept. of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the UB, as director of the Institute. In this new phase, the distinguished scientist Joan Massagué will also join the management team of the centre.
The institute began its activity in PCB facilities on the initiative of the UB and was set up to coordinate and promote research of excellence in the field of biomedicine. In this regard, the PCB has consolidated itself as an ideal setting in which to establish centres of this...
On Tuesday 4th October, the Executive Council of the Generalitat de Catalunya approved the constitution of the Institute for Research in Biomedicine Foundation. This foundation seeks to strengthen and manage biomedical research performed at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona), which is located at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB, Parc Científic de Barcelona). The governing board of the new foundation will comprise the Generalitat de Catalunya, through the Dept. of Universities, Research and the Information Society (DURSI) and the Dept. of Health, the Universitat de Barcelona (UB) and the PCB.
The results from this research have been published in the 4 September online edition of the scientific journal Nature Genetics.
