Research group
Jordi Casanova obtained his degree in Biology in 1981 from the Universitat de Barcelona and his PhD in 1986 from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in the laboratory of Ginés Morata. In 1987 he joined the laboratory of Gary Struhl at the Columbia University, New York.
In 1990 he became a researcher at the CSIC where at present he holds a Research Professor position. In 2000 he was elected member of the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO).
