Advanced Light Microscopy Core Facility
Introducción
The IRB Barcelona Advanced Light Microscopy Core Facility is a newly created facility committed to providing a complete range of light microscopy imaging services to IRB researchers and visiting scientists. The Facility aims to provide easy access to state-of-the-art conventional and laser-based microscopes as well as assistance in advanced imaging techniques, i.e. FRAP or FRET, for both image processing, and data interpretation and presentation.
The Facility also aims to develop and combine microscopy techniques to accelerate access to newly developed approaches and promote scientific collaborations using imaging.
In partnership with the Parc Científic de Barcelona (PCB), IRB Barcelona’s Advanced Light Microscopy Core Facility currently provides access to three confocal microscopes and several conventional upright and inverted microscopes.
From 2008-2009, the platform will provide access to other advanced techniques, including 2-photon microscopy, Spinning Disk Confocal, Total Internal Reflection (TIRF), laser based dissection and in vivo nanosurgery, and automated imaging.
