ADAPTMET Trains Metastasis Experts

IRB Barcelona is coordinating ADAPTMET, a €4.4 million Horizon Europe network that will train sixteen PhD students across fourteen institutions in the biology of cancer cell fate, environment, latency and expansion. Led by metastasis specialist Dr. Roger Gomis, the project builds on the successful EVOMET programme and targets the mechanisms that allow tumour cells to adapt and spread.
By combining research training with investigation into metastatic processes, ADAPTMET will prepare the next generation of scientists and develop new strategies focused on the 90% of cancer deaths caused by metastasis.
