ADAPTMET Trains Metastasis Experts
In November, the ADAPTMET training network held its annual meeting at IRB Barcelona, bringing together doctoral candidates, supervisors, and international partners from academia, hospitals, and industry across Europe. The initiative, led by Dr. Roger Gomis, forms part of a €4.4 million Horizon Europe doctoral programme designed to train the next generation of metastasis researchers through a multidisciplinary approach that combines experimental biology, clinical insight, and translational research.
Through scientific exchange, skills training, and strategic coordination across the consortium, ADAPTMET seeks to equip early-career researchers with the expertise needed to understand how cancer cells adapt, survive, and spread, thereby contributing to the development of new therapeutic strategies targeting metastatic disease.
