Short bio:

Dr. Meritxell B. Cutrona is a cell biologist and scientific consultant specializing in organoid-based high-content screening (HCS), high-content imaging, and laboratory automation for drug discovery and translational research.
Her career spans membrane trafficking, quantitative microscopy, and cancer biology, with experience at institutions including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, LIH & Luxembourg University, and Gustave Roussy. She has developed and led organoid- and cell-based screening platforms, particularly using patient-derived organoids to study drug response, resistance, drug synergy, and therapeutic vulnerabilities in cancer. Her expertise includes 3D models, phenotypic screening, quantitative imaging, RNAi-based screening, CRISPR-based screens, and the development of high-throughput assays for drug discovery and precision medicine.
