The next session of Building Bridges in Your Network is on 13th December 2017!

The Innovation Department invites you to meet & greet our next speaker in the series, Dr. Georgina Sorrosal, Investment Analyst at Healthequity and member of IRB Barcelona Alumni.

Dr. Sorrosal will bring her experience in the biotech/health environment and how this relates to the value chain of the drug development process. She will share an overview on her involvement in a venture capital firm called Healthequity and in the Entrepreneur Healthcare Programme at CoMB (Official Medial Association of Barcelona). Moreover, she has also been Project Manager in drug development at the biotech company Advancell and she also worked at the Knowledge Transfer and Innovation Unit at Vall d'Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR).

Sessions are open to all IRB members. However, please note that only 10 places are available. In addition, a number of places are reserved for IRB Barcelona alumni.

Speakers

Georgina Sorrosal, PhD
Investment Analyst

Georgina has a Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Biotechnology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), PhD in Genetics from the University of Barcelona (UB) and Master’s Degree in Management of Business Aspects of Science and Technology from Barcelona School of Management (UPF).

More than 5 years of research in Developmental Genetics and Control of Cell Growth at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) in Barcelona, being the author of several scientific publications.

Experience as a Project Manager in drug development at the biotech company Advancell, S.A, and experience as a Portfolio Manager and Business Development at the Knowledge Transfer and Innovation unit at Vall d'Hebron Institute of Research in Barcelona (VHIR).
Since May 2016, she has been working as Investment analyst at Healthequity, a venture capital firm, and collaborating with the Entrepreneurship in Healthcare program at CoMB (Official Medical Association of Barcelona) coaching entrepreneurs in the life-science sector.
