Experimental Pathology in Biomedical Research Centres

15 jun 23

The workshop will introduce participants to the field of experimental histopathology by reviewing the basic concepts of pathology (macroscopic and microscopic lesions/tissue evaluation), and the routine and specialised histological techniques used to obtain and process tissue samples. Notions of digital pathology and image analysis will be also covered.

Moreover, several examples of the applications of histopathological studies to biomedical research will be presented.

The session is addressed mainly to PhD researchers and users of the Histopathology Facility (previous registration requested).

Date and Time: Thursday 15 June 2023, 9:30-13:45
Place: Tower I – Room 3 (Parc Científic de Barcelona)

Neus Prats – Head, IRB Histopathology Facility

Mònica Aguilera – Senior Research Officer, IRB Histopathology Facility

Irene Ruano – Research Officer, IRB Histopathology Facility

Laura Sala – Research Officer, IRB Histopathology Facility

Registration: Fill in the registration form here before 12 June. The workshop has limited places. Participants will receive a confirmation email.

If you are registered to participate and finally cannot attend, please send an e-mail to phd@irbbarcelona.org in order to give others the opportunity.
