El portal web Hidden Nature ha publicado un artículo sobre las 10 áreas de investigación más importantes del 2018. Una de ellas alude a las terapias epigenéticas y hacen referencia al estudio publicado en Nature Cell Biology, liderado por Salvador Aznar Benitah y Fran Supek del IRB Barcelona, que concluye  que hay que tener cuidado con los fármacos que inhiben los factores epigenéticos dado que podrían originar la aparición de tumores agresivos.
