Join us in the next meet & greet session organized by Innovation Department to meet our tandem of invited speakers:

Miríam and Alba will talk about their positions and their experiences in the pharmaceutical sector and explain how their positions contribute to generating value in the drug development process.

Bridges to Industry is a meet & greet programme set up by the Innovation Department. It aims to provide you with the opportunity to meet key professionals in the bio sector and to expand and/or consolidate your network. Schedule of the session:

Sessions are open to all IRB members (limited places). In addition, a number of places are reserved for IRB Barcelona alumni.

Míriam Fernández, MSc,
Health Economics Manager at Amgen

Miríam holds a degree in Biotechnology from the University Autonmous of Barcelona, an MSc in Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Industry from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and a Master in Health Economics and Pharmacoeconomics from the UPF Barcelona School of Management.


Miríam did an internship at Grifols in Immunohematology in 2013. After finishing her first master’s degree in 2014, she started a career at Amgen, where she has been promoted from intern to Health Economics Manager. Míriam has experience across different therapeutic areas including oncology, hematology and cardiovascular. She has also been active in professional associations and initiatives, serving as chair of the Catalan Association of Biotechnology from 2016 to 2019.

 

Alba Jiménez, PhD,
Medical Scientific Liaison at GSK

Alba studied Pharmacy at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, did her PhD and Postdoc at the Centro de Biolgía Molecular and has an Master in Health Biotechnology from CESIF.


Her PhD focused on a new target biomarker in ovarian and colorectal cancer. After finishing her postdoc in 2017, she started working as a trainee in Marketing Oncology at BMS. In 2018, she was appointed Medical Scientific Liason (MSL) at Janssen-Cilag. The following year she took up the position of MSL in the field of oncology at GSK.
