BIST – Leadership in Action 2023

BIST is organising a new edition of its programme Leadership in Action, designed by using VITAE’s framework, and thinking in our postdoctoral researchers. It will offer you the opportunity to focus on developing skills for successful self-management and development to progress in your professional career. You will learn to develop clear objectives, and plan and manage your time and your resources to be efficient. The importance of communicate effectively, manage your tasks and deciding witch type of leader you want to be will also be covered. These are interactive and practical workshops, so come prepared with your leadership challenges, your professional ambitions and a willingness to experiment.

The course is offered to postdoctoral researchers currently working at BIST research centres (CRG, IBEC, ICFO, ICIQ, ICN2, IFAE, IRB Barcelona), but is also open to external postdoctoral community.

Registration: Fill in the registration form here before 5 July. A confirmation email will be sent to all participants. Participants will receive access details prior the starting of the course.

The tuition price is 200€ for BIST Community members. Please note that the participant is responsible for the fees of the course and participation must be approved by the supervisor.

 

Attendance to all sessions in full is mandatory if registered. If you may not be able to come, please send an e-mail to phd@irbbarcelona.org with a minimum of 48 hours of the first sessions so we can offer your seat to another participant.

Speakers

Caroline Broad, Broad Associates Ltd

Caroline gained her twenty years’ experience facilitating teams and delivering skills training with a focus on developing the skills of career researchers and University staff in STEM. Caroline is a certified practioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Belbin Team RolesÔ, and also a Mental Health First Aider, C-Me profiling and Resilience Tools consultant.
