“La Vanguardia” publishes the interview of the Efe Agency with Andreu Mas-Colell, president of the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST). Since 2015, the BIST has brought together six of the main Catalan research centres, including IRB Barcelona.

During the interview, Mas-Colell gives a positive evaluation of his first year at the helm of BIST, highlighting the € 10 million funding achieved from the European Marie Curie Programme. This funding will allow 89 researchers to work in the six Catalan centres from September 2017 to 2022. "The juxtaposition of the six research centres allows us to have a collective identity of presence in the world and to exploit economies of scale, as well as facilitating collaboration between the public and private sectors," says Mas-Colell.
