La Vanguardia devotes a report to the "Crazy about Biomedicine " course, run by IRB Barcelona and the Fundació Catalunya - La Pedrera. The Catalan newspaper gives a green traffic light to the director of the institute, Joan J. Guinovart, for this initiative. The programme seeks to train 24 baccalaureate students in life sciences with the objective to foster interest in science and scientific vocation.

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) pursues a society free of disease.
