In an interview on Radio Nacional de España, IRB Barcelona director, Joan J. Guinovart, says that "our future depends on the education that we offer young students and it is our responsibility to show them that science is interesting and great fun". IRB Barcelona took part as a Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence in the educational fair "Aula 2013", which was held in Madrid last week. In the interview, Guinovart also explains the objectives of the new course "Crazy About Biomedicine", being held in IRB Barcelona labs on Saturdays. Combining theoretical sessions and experiments, this initiative is addressed to baccalaureate students and aims to foster scientific vocations by introducing them to life sciences.
