In a double-page spread, the newspaper La Vanguardia focuses on sport from a scientific perspective and includes statements by Antonio Zorzano, coordinator of the Molecular Medicine Programme at IRB Barcelona. The article reports on a recent study carried out by the Massachusetts General Hospital that has found that physically active people burn calories more efficiently than sedentary people. Zorzano explains what happens in the cells during exercise and why this is beneficial to health.
