The programme "La Noche de Cope" interviewed Joan J. Guinovart about the bequest of 1.5 million euros donated to IRB Barcelona and that will be devoted to strengthening research into cancer and metastasis.
25 non-profit organisations working in the fields of social welfare, the environment, and biomedical research and associated with the LegadoSolidario.org campaign inform the public about the possibility of including a donation to a cause or charity with which they identify.
According to data from 2015, only 1% of wills made in Spain included a charitable bequest.

Carlos Romero, a long-distance swimmer, won the prize for best athlete in the men's category. Romero combines sports and fundraising to support the Institute for Biomedcine Research (IRB Barcelona).
La Premsa del Baix and the Town Council of Sant Esteve Sesrovires has published an article on the challenge that Carlos Romero has taken up, namely to participate in the seventh "Batalla de Rande". This involves swimming 27 km from the Cies Islands to the island of San Simón in Galicia. Romero has requested that people show their support by donating to research done at IRB Barcelona.
