IRB Barcelona director Joan Guinovart has written an article in La Vanguardia titled "The urgent revolution", in which he describes the current situation of science in Spain and the political and economic actions that should be taken to ensure a bright and prosperous future.

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) pursues a society free of disease. To this end, it conducts multidisciplinary research of excellence to cure cancer and other diseases linked to ageing.
