Research done at IRB Barcelona and IDIBAPS got the third place in "Vanguardia de la Ciencia" Award

La Vanguardia newspaper has published an article congratulating the winners of the "Vanguardia de la Ciencia" Award. The third place went to the research done by Marc Claret, at IDIBAPS, and Antonio Zorzano, head of the Complex Metabolic Diseases and Mitochondria Laboratory at IRB Barcelona. This study, discovered that a small group of neurons communicates with the pancreas to regulate the release of insulin. This finding thus, represents an advance in the understanding of type 2 diabetes.
