Research into neurons that regulate insulin, nominated for the "Vanguardia de la Ciencia" award

Antonio Zorzano from IRB Barcelona and Marc Claret from IDIBAPS have been nominated for the “Vanguardia de la Ciencia” award. Their research reveals the connection between the hypothalamus and pancreas.
La Vanguardia newspaper has interviewed Raúl Méndez, a researcher at IRB Barcelona, and José J. Lucas, from the Severo Ochoa Molecular Biology Center of the CSIC, about the study related to autism and that iscompeting for the Vanguardia de la Ciencia prize: "The fact that there are environmental factors involved in autism does not mean that vaccines are one of these environmental factors. The alleged relation between childhood vaccination and autism has no basis.
La Vanguardia has published an article about a research project led by IRB Barcelona and the Severo Ochoa Molecular Biology Centre that has been nominated for the "Vanguardia de la Ciencia" Award. Addressing the CPEB4 protein, the study reveals that it is a key factor in the origin of autism. The winning project will be chosen through a popular vote. The last day to vote is 28 February.
