The IRB Barcelona director, Joan J. Guinovart, publishes an article entitled “Knowledge for growth”, which is included in the “Debate” section of the newspaper “La Vanguardia”. In the article, Guinovart defends the need to keep investing in science in times of crisis as the only possible way to strengthen the economies of Catalonia and Spain.

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) pursues a society free of disease. To this end, it conducts multidisciplinary research of excellence to cure cancer and other diseases linked to ageing.
