La Vanguardia devotes an extensive report to research conducted in Barcelona, the metropolitan area of which has become the most important scientific capital of the Mediterranean, together with Israel, within the last 25 years.

The report includes the testimony of Gemma Turon, PhD student with the Colorectal Cancer laboratory at IRB Barcelona, who has already published a paper as a co-first author in the EMBO Molecular Medicine journal. "There are now more opportunities, better prospects and more resources and excellence has stopped being an exception," La Vanguardia emphasizes.
