The Global Diabetes Community, Diabetes UK, echoes on the study performed by IRB Barcelona and IDIBAPS scientists. In the study, the researchers reveal the link between POMC neurons in the hypothalamus and the release of insulin by the pancreas.

Published in Cell Metabolism, this work emphasises the relevance of neuronal mechanisms in the detection of nutrients and the regulation of glucose levels.
