The scientific community in Spain is worried about the announcement of the Spanish government of reducing the research budget in 2010. Newspaper La Vanguardia collects the opinions of outstanding researchers, amongst them Joan J Guinovart, IRB Barcelona director and president of the Confederation of Science Societies in Spain (COSCE).
