Olga Torres Foundation awards IRB Barcelona a grant to study immunotherapies for metastatic colorectal cancer
The project, headed by group leader and ICREA researcher Eduard Batlle, receives a 60,000-€ grant.
The study will test the effectiveness of immunotherapies to treat metastatic disease in advanced colorectal cancer.
Research will take place during the academic years 2017 and 2018.
Researchers at IDIBAPS and IRB Barcelona have described in Cancer Research, that the longer the time from the onset of the tumour to the development of metastasis is, the more aggressive this cancer becomes.
The 8th “Vi per Vida” (“Wine for Life” in English) will be held for 300 participants on Sunday 7 May in Mollerussa and will cost 10 euros per person.
The event aims to raise funds to support research into cancer and metastasis conducted at IRB Barcelona.
This fundraising initiative draws public attention to the importance of scientific research.
