The December issue of Forbes published an interview with Elena Sancho, associate researcher at IRB Barcelona. Sancho explains her work on colon cancer investigation undertaken in the Colorectal Cancer Lab, headed by Eduard Batlle, and on the development of a diagnostic test to detect patients with a high risk of colon cancer relapse.

Sancho also talks about the need to maintain funding for research in order to create wealth and wellbeing in Spain and calls for the commitment of great fortunes to upholding and promoting science. The researcher from Madrid also explains that we should lose our fear of cancer and do early detection tests because “30% of tumours can be prevented by taking appropriate measures.”
