Article in the newspaper “El País” about a meeting on the European Research Council (ERC) held in Barcelona on Friday 28 May. The platform of scientific societies and organisations, Initiative for Science in Europe (ISE), with the support of IRB Barcelona, brought together more than 125 authorities at the “Institut d’Estudis Catalans” to discuss the future of the ERC.

Set up in 2007, the ERC depends on the European Commission and is charged with the mission to fund the best basic research with the sole criterion of excellence.
