Report on a talk given by Eduard Batlle, head of the Colorectal Cancer Lab, in a conference series organised by El Periódico, in which he related the current state of cancer research. Batlle is confident that in the not so distant future the breakthroughs in the field will markedly increase the survival of patients with cancer, as he has already expounded in recent years.

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) pursues a society free of disease.
