IRB Barcelona Directors among the most influential scientists in Spain

IRB Barcelona Director and Adjunct Director Joan Guinovart and Joan Massagué made it for a fourth consecutive year to the 2008 ranking of the top 25 most influential scientists in Spain, published this January by the Spanish newspaper El Mundo. Guinovart was chosen for his task leading IRB Barcelona and the Confederation of Scientific Spanish Societies (COSCE) and for his pioneer work on diabetes and neurodegenerative diseases, and Massagué for his breakthrough research on metastasis.

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) pursues a society free of disease.
