In a two-page article, the newspaper Ara reveals a more personal side of Joan Massagué, adjunt director of IRB Barcelona. Guided by the journalist Ariadna Trillas, Massagué recounts his beginnings in the world of science without hiding his passion for research on what he calls "criminal, deaf or terrorist" cells, namely metastatic cells.

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) pursues a society free of disease.
