Various media report on the study headed by ICREA Professor Marco Milán, leader of the Development and Growth Control Lab at IRB Barcelona. The study discloses a new signal that participates in the specification and growth of fruit fly (Drosophila melanogaster) wings.

Published in Nature Communications, this work paves the way to research into the function of this pathway in vertebrate development and its possible involvement in human congenital diseases.
