An article published in the newspaper La Vanguardia analyzes the results of the PISA report related to the understanding of and interest in science. To evaluate the results, the newspaper has consulted various experts, among these Joan J. Guinovart, IRB Barcelona director. According to Guinovart, “we have three tools to maintain Catalonia’s scientific level: building talent through our students, and it seems like this is not being done; attracting talent like they do in the US, which we are getting better at; and retaining talent”.
