This is the reason why stress turns your hair grey

The newspaper La Vanguardia has published an article on accelerated and premature greying of hair. In a study performed with mice, scientists have observed that stress overactivates certain nerves of the autonomic nervous system, which in turn cause permanent damage to the stem cells responsible for regenerating hair pigment.

Referring to grey hair, Salvador Aznar, ICREA researcher at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona), says, “It is a clear message that you are sending to those around you, so it probably confers an evolutionary advantage”,
