Research activity in the last ten years has focused on the characterization of the mechanisms that drive colorectal cancer initiation and progression. Among other findings, Eduard Batlle originally discovered the transcription factor Snail as a suppressor of E-cadherin expression in tumor cells and more recently the role of EphB receptors in colorectal cancer. His articles published in the last six years have been quoted more than 800 times and have received several reviews and comments in prestigious journals.
