La Vanguardia newspaper has interviewed Raúl Méndez, a researcher at IRB Barcelona, and José J. Lucas, from the Severo Ochoa Molecular Biology Center of the CSIC, about the study related to autism and that iscompeting for the Vanguardia de la Ciencia prize: "The fact  that there are environmental factors involved in autism does not mean that vaccines are one of these environmental factors. The alleged relation between childhood vaccination and autism has no basis. CPEB4 influences the development of the nervous system especially during the prenatal stage, and children do not receive vaccines before they are born, "said Raúl Méndez.
