Reprogramming the genetic code at the transcriptional level: the key in cancer

Researchers at IRB Barcelona and ICREA professors Raúl Méndez, Salvador Aznar Benitah and Eduard Batlle have co-headed the B·Debate. At the end of the event, they spoke to Gaceta Médica about the advances made in cancer epigenetics.
Cope, ABC, La Rioja, among other media, have published an article about the inscriptions to the IV Women's Race for Research from Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer (AECC). The resources obtained from this race will be used to finance two predoctoral grants at two institutions in La Rioja. Also, the project "Research on the impact of senescence influenced by inflammation as a therapy on cancer stem cells" led by Marta Kovatcheva, researcher at IRB Barcelona, will be financed.
SINC, El Público, Catalunya Vanguardista and the newspaper Heraldo de Aragón, have published an article about the process and conditions that triggers cancer according to a study published in the journal Science that raises new theories about aging. The article includes the opinion of Salvador Aznar Benitah, ICREA researcher at IRB Barcelona, about the study: "it is a very well done piece of work, with a very sophisticated analysis. We tend to think that the tumour tissue has mutations and the healthy one does not, but that is not the case.
